Founded by childhood friends Ben Consmueller and Ilia Lipsman, the seed of Far & Away was planted years ago with one fateful leap into the unknown. Inspired by the new golden age of travel photography emerging on Instagram, the pair withdrew from university, packed their backpacks, and booked one-way tickets to Europe. What they discovered on their journey became their greatest inspiration. It wasn’t the history or the scenic vistas they sought; it was the people they met and the humble stories they told.
Moved by these experiences, the two returned home with a singular focus: to tell stories that resonate with our shared humanity. Thus, Ilienfero Productions was born, creating award-winning work, including their film for MS Canada, "Always Felt," which earned Ben and Ilia a place on the Young Director Award shortlist at Cannes Lions.
Today, Ilienfero has grown into Far & Away, but that same daring spirit that inspired their journey remains central to everything they do. While Halifax is home, their eyes remain fixed on the horizon, just over the crest of the next wave for what lies beyond..
